TITLE of a song by the group in question says it all: "Fuck." If ever the Brazilian music had such an attitude was certainly one of the recording sessions for one of the old LPs Antonio Adolfo & A Brazuca. It was one of the most creative phases of our music, one of those rare moments when you realize that everything is possible. Even mix tone, soul, samba, rock and psychedelia.

The recipe above appears on two albums that keyboardist / composer Antonio Adolfo recorded alongside the Brazuca, the ancient Odeon. For those who want to check both disks are in catalog on CD - the first, which contains the hit song "Julia" came out some time ago, in the series Odeon 100 years, and second, outside of any series, can now be found in some stores. A little history for those unfamiliar: Antonio, Antonio Adolfo born Maurity Savoy (yes, he is the brother of Ruy Maurity gone) was a mixture of jazz and bossa nova and samba groups in May and set 3D - an appreciation by mixing Brazilianness and technology, which gives the guys in the lyrics and melodies of Brazuca, already appears there. Antonio has worked with many people, but is more known for his work with lyricist Tiberio Gaspar, who has a rich array of songs recorded by Simonal ("Sá Marina"), Toni Tornado ("BR-3"), Tender Trio ("dummy"), Evinha (Teletema "), etc.. Success did not miss: "Teletema" had the glory of being one of the first songs broadcast in the country trails novels (Bride's Veil, 1970, released by Philips). E "BR-3", soul lysergic first line was classified in the International Song Festival.

Shortly before that time, Antonio & Tiberius had already joined a team of those: the singers Bimba and Julie, bassist Luizão Maia (accompanying artists like Elis Regina and Erasmo Carlos and uncle also bassist Arthur Maia), the guitarist Luiz Claudio Ramos and drummer Victor Manga. The first disc of the new group, Antonio Adolfo & A Brazuca, came out in 1969 hailed by Carlos Imperial, Roberto Carlos, Chico Anisio, Augusto Marzagão Eça and Louie (who wrote the texts of the back cover) and pulled by "Julie" another hit powered by festivals (2nd place in the IV FIC). In stuffing, tune-soul (the very "Julia"), sounds influenced by the Beatles ("Futilirama", "Two Times"), a kind of modern nursery rhymes ("MOCA"), psychedelic soul of Brazil ("Flight of Apollo" with early effects of keyboards) and other tunes to thrill, as "The City and I," "The streets in my neighborhood" and urged to bossa-soul "Maria Aparecida", besides the original version of "Teletema" closed by studio chatter and the slamming of a door. A wonderful work, who knows why, has never been reissued. And as I went out for some time, pray to find some there. The second

Antonio Adolfo & A Brazuca came out in 1971 and made several changes in the band. For the hippie mood of the hood, as you can see that the dive in the soul and the rock was total. Julie left the band and was replaced by a vocalist, Louise Keller. And a curious story: Vitor Manga left the group to tour with Simonal in Mexico, a year earlier. Your problems with drugs ended up making the singer of "Sá Marina" to dismiss - and he was angry, he died of an overdose. The sadness with the departure of Victor carregadíssima add up to the ballad "A Tribute to Victor Manga", literally crying and screaming for Keller. A curiosity: Vitor was the nephew of the man-of-TV Carlos Manga, who after the death of the musician, decided to take revenge Simonal looking for months, armed with a gun - a fact which was revealed by the Carlos Manga, an interview with Playboy, in the 90s. Several mutual friends ended up preventing the meeting between the two happened.

More surprises may be found in songs like "Panorama" (quite inspired in Marcos Valle), "Around town, the climate-jazzy samba" Claudia, "the psychedelia of" Warning! Warning! "progressivism in the" Trans "and in the soul and heavy hippie" be damned. " The primacy of partnership Antonio & Tiberius is replaced by various compositions of double Luiz Claudio Ramos / Mariozinho Rock music and credited to Brazuca. After two albums recorded next to the group, Antonio throw one more by Philips in 1972, and then would engage in the independent production, recording and distributing their albums on their own, from the pioneering label Artezanal. Tiberius begin a partnership with singer and composer Guilherme Lamounier - that would create a solo record of William in 1973 by Continental and success "Head done," recorded by cearence Weight - and recently released a solo CD. And even not appearing both in the media, the creations of the dual plant has already drawn attention to people unlikely - you can ask the punk Jello Biafra, who has walked in interviews citing Antonio Adolfo.
